Final Scene of Episode 508, "Gliding Over All", from Breaking Bad.
SPOILER ALERT:
Hank realizes Walt is Heisenberg.
Having some experience in film/television myself (I worked in Art Departments, as a Production Designer and Costume Designer), I was excited for this assignment. I have used video in my own fine art work, but haven't been the sole creator of videos that focus on narrative work before and wanted to be sure to try to capture as many details that my apartment constraints would allow. Part of what I chose to focus on was trying to match the framing of shots and shot movement as closely as possible, make a clear choice regarding lighting to mimic the blue tones of the flashback sequence, and to include appropriate props and wardrobe where possible - including the Leaves of Grass book with the hand-written inscription, Walt's glasses, and as many similar plaid shirts as I had around. This project was highly dependent on having a second crew member! Both for acting purposes, and to cover the dialogue shots. Ben gave the excellent editing suggestion of dragging in the video footage of the original scene to be able to match our own cuts and recorded sounds perfectly to the original. This was a huge help in allowing the two videos to be *almost* completely lined up.
You rocked this video! Great acting skills and directing. I love your attention to detail in mimicking the scene frame by frame, not just in the lines and characters but the lighting and the composition of each frame as well. If you were to take this further, I'd say maybe, if you had the time, to do a full five minute scene, or possibly to direct your own short film using the techniques you exhibited in the project.
